Today I attended the Empower Business Networking - Thetford event run at the Charles Burrell Centre by Hilary Codd of Hilary Codd Illustrations a business networking for women group who meet once a month.
Each month a group of local business women meet to discuss all things business related from, tax returns, to business premises, to lone working, menopause at work, you name it they discuss it. And each month they have a quest speaker, someone from the group who covers a specific topic.
This month, not only was it the first time I could make a session but I was guest speaker! I thought, do I prepare an in depth presentation on the principles of marketing (I do love a power point presentation) or do I just talk from experience. I chose the later.
I was welcomed into the group, swapped business cards (as you do and is obligatory at a networking event) and I also handed out some of my branded pens, everyone loves a free pen!
I hope that the insights, advice and helpful tips I gave were useful. It was a great opportunity to talk about what I love doing day to day and that is marketing. Creating a plan, being creative, creating content, analysing results and measuring engagement.
